Love’s Corporation procured Summit to complete the site civil design for a new Love’s Travel Center in Greenville, VA. Summit designed the parking areas, roadways, entrances, drainage features, a new quadruple box culvert, and four bio-retention basins. Summit designed approximately 1,700 LF of entrance road with drainage ditches to VDOT standards. Summit used HEC-RAS to analyze the stream impacts due to the quadruple box culvert and obtained a no-rise determination. The four bio-retention basins were designed to reduce runoff to below predevelopment flow and to capture nutrients that would otherwise be discharged into the watershed.
