In collaboration with The City of Louisa, KY, Summit developed a master plan for the development of a linear park along the Big Sandy River, including a walk-bike trail with parking and trailhead improvements, wayfinding signage, an amphitheater, splash pad, zip line course, boat ramp, bathroom facilities, picnic areas and shelters. In 2018, the City of Louisa selected Summit to design the initial phase, the ReDiscover Louisa Riverwalk Project.

The new Riverwalk will be a 6’ wide concrete path with solar lighting. A 2-in. waterline with yard hydrants will parallel the trail, and provide the ability to clean the surface after eventual flooding events. Tree removal will be minimized in order to preserve the character of the riverbank area. The trail will connect the City Park & Pool to the City’s Boat Ramp access, approximately 3,100 LF (0.6 miles).
