The New Harrison County High School Project derived from Summit updating the District Facility Plan. Our efforts allowed us to present alternative approaches and long-range planning for facilities that would lower the district total cost of ownership. We validated that by consolidating three older rural elementary schools, the district would save money in the future. We presented a plan that would allow the district to shift buildings and educational plan and have all students on one campus by constructing a New High School and they would also generate a district early childhood center. The project will be constructed in the following phases:

Phase-1—Site Development:
Summit provided a site design that offered a 100% balanced site. We saved the district money by shifting over 150,000 cubic yards of earth. Construction on Phase-1 is scheduled to be completed on March 1, 2023.

Phase-2—Site Utilities:
Due to inflation and supply chain issues, we are bidding out a second package for all site utilities and the geothermal well field. Phase-2 is scheduled to begin construction in April 2023.

Phase-3—High School Facility:
The new high school will be sized for 1,250 students. The exterior offers traditional architecture and is designed to be the safest and most technologically advanced educational facility in the state. The new school facility is scheduled to be opened in the fall of 2026.
